Boq Part 3

The summer is in full swing in the land of Oz. Boq has employment at the local library, and he finally has some friends; Crope and Tibbett. They work at the library too. As their conversation takes a turn, Galinda and Elphaba approach. The discussion of Doctor Dillamond arises. They speak highly of him and the academic achievements he has contributed to society. They also speak of how he is not able to teach at the boys school due to the fact that he is an Animal. The topic of the Animal rights is the Land of Oz creates a small picture in the reader’s mind, that the novel will be dealing with the political issues in Oz. There is also a large presence of the issues in the novel. An example of this is, Turtle Heart and Frex discuss some of the leadership issues in the first part of the novel.
